Attending Infusionsoft Revolution Tour

I am spending the day expanding our knowledge of Infusionsoft at the Revolution Tour in Austin, TX.  You can never get too much information about Infusionsoft.  Even the “Masters” can always learn more.

Thank you to the Infusionsoft team for putting on a great presentation today!

Do you need more hours in a day?

It seems that in our current time we all need to find just a couple more hours in the day and guess what…

I found them!

I want to show you how I found several hours in a day… YES, I SAID HOURS!

Back when I was in my early 20′s, working as a bartender just to get a few extra bucks in my pocket in my little hometown of Ontonagon, located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, the local band used always sing a song at my request, because it fit me to a tee!  I worked 3 if not 4 jobs and it always seemed like I was rushing out of one place to run to another… And I still had to find time for family and fun!

The song was from Alabama… I bet you know it…

“I’m in a hurry to get things done, Oh I rush and rush until life’s no fun.
All I really gotta do is live and die. But I’m in a hurry and don’t know why”

…Sorry, I know you are going to have that stuck in your head all day now!  ;-)

Anyway, as I grew older an realized there is more to life that just rushing from one place to another, I started to think, there has got to be an easier way!

I worked in Billing and Collections at the time of being introduced to Infusionsoft, and found out I could literally automate the “main” job that I had.  I was freeing up a ton of time and then had time to work on some bigger projects!

Do you want to know how I did it?

How to Increase Your Opened Emails

How would you like to find a quick way to increase the number of prospects that actually see your emails?

Infusionsoft makes it easy to send a duplicate email, with a little different message to those who haven’t opened your email yet.

Just go to the email batch status report.

Reports -> Marketing Reports -> Email Batch Status

Click on the pie chart on delivered.

This will give you a second pie chart that will show you the opened vs who did not.

You can click on the “Nothing” section, then click on “I want to” Send a Broadcast (Email, Fax, etc.)

This will allow you to send a second email with the same message to get a higher open rate for that message.

….And…if you do the math… higher open rates equal higher sales numbers!

If you want to find out more awesome Infusionsoft tips from the Masters just send us your name and email and we will keep you in the loop!

Do I Charge Sales Tax on a Digitally Delivered Products?

It is that time of year again, where we are all trying to get together all of our paperwork for Uncle Sam.  And this activity must have brought this ongoing question to fruition again.

“Do I charge sales tax on a digitally delivered product?”

This question was asked to me by 2 different clients last week, and the answers were completely different!  I realized that there are probably several other business owners out there that are seeking the same information, so I thought I would take a look around and see what I can find.  And get this… I found that from state to state the laws differ and there is no master list that gives us an quick glance to know if we are to charge sales tax on a digitally delivered product in the state that we do business.

Sales & Use Tax is regulated by the state that you are operating out of.  For example, a business in Washington state may have completely different rules than a business in Kansas.  So, rather than going out on a limb and trying to pull together a list for y’all that will only be out of date shortly, I decided to just bring this to your attention so you can get the up to date, correct information!

…If you are setting up a new product in InfusionSoft, this is a perfect time to double check the laws.  Please contact your accountant, or the state that your business is located to find out what the laws are that govern your business.

***Disclaimer:  I am not an accountant, nor do I plan to be… This is only a suggestion that you contact someone with real accounting skills to get your information.
